A Whole Year!!

My thoughts this week have been on the anniversary of the school fire. On July 13th it was a year since we had the fire at our old G.E.S. The school is totally down and they are working on the new building, although all it looks like they've done over there is move the dirt around. I need to go over and take some pictures. I'll add one to this entry when I do. I'm sure they've done more than it looks like they've done. I know there are things they have to do below the ground before they start. However, I'm not really sure that they can have a whole building up before August of 2011 with only what I see completed so far. They might surprise me. Who knows where I'll end up when it is completed. They will be making both schools K-6th grade schools, so our team will be split between the two schools unless we change grades, which I'm not doing unless I'm forced too!
It was quite a year last year. Very hard in many ways!! I'm looking forward to a new year and a better attitude for me. I've moved to a new portable, which wasn't very fun to move again, but it is bigger and it will put all of the 4th grade together rather than split between the front and back of the school. I just think that will help immensely. We know the school better and I think we, as a team, will be much more unified again finally!! So here is to a new year!!

No time for Pictures

It was a beautiful weekend up in the Uinta's this past weekend. The temperature stayed in the 70's and it felt great! Larry and I took the new wheels and went up to the cabin Friday night. We're trying to get a few things done up there that we've been putting off. I had to teach a lesson at church on Sunday so we just went up for Saturday. We got up, Larry a little earlier than I did, and went to work. I may as well got up the same time, because all I could hear was Larry banging away down in the basement. After breakfast we went downstairs and began working on the dry wall so that we can get some things out of the basement and so that we can finish at least the front part of that room. I have some great plans for down there. First we are going to move the air hockey game down there so that the kids can play all they want and we don't have to tell them to take a break because of the noise....and I want to make the part just inside the door into a mud area for when we come in from snowmobiling we can sit down and take our boots off and have a place to hang everything up. So I want to tile part of it and put down the wood flooring on the other half. We also worked upstairs on the baseboards. We had it almost all the way finished except for some of the bedrooms and some most of the closets. We're still not finished with either project, but I seriously could not have gone up and down those stairs one more time. My knee was just killing me.... I hate getting old(er). Little by little we might get this thing done. We made a good team and accomplished a lot together!! We just left the place a mess downstairs so that we can just go back up and go back to work. We have a few weeks before we have to have it all cleaned up and ready for the Millett Family Reunion!!

By the way Larry loved the new wheels, he was testing it on the corners and dirt roads to make sure it lived up to all it's promises...I guess it does, cause he was impressed and loved the drive.

Our 2009 New Addition

Well..we did it. We've been talking about getting something to replace my Nissan for a while. I bought it in 2002 and have had it quite a long time. It's been a good car, but it was time to update to something a little newer.

We had talked about Larry giving me his Accord and then him getting an even more efficient auto for himself. I also told him I would like a Honda Pilot, because I thought it would serve our needs pretty well and make me feel even safer in the snow going to and from Grantsville. After more talk we decided it would be a pretty good vehicle to get up to the cabin in too. So we decided to start looking around for Pilots.

The idea was sounding better and better to me. I wouldn't have the dogs sitting on my lap like in the truck. The truck is getting pretty old itself. We might need to get a newer truck sometime...but maybe now we can wait awhile longer. The Pilot can tow a fair amount and will be great getting into the snowmobiles in the winter. It took us awhile to get the right one and after almost buying a couple and things not working out, I think that we were suppose to wait for this deal. It even had some bonuses we weren't aware of. Like a camera for backing up. I love the leather seats and they'll heat up my bottom when it is cold. I love that Larry can be as warm as cool as he wants and I can do the same...'cause we are not the same on that one. :) I think we were both very happy with the purchase.

It will be mine to drive around, but it is really ours since we'll be using it for so many other things we love to do. We love the New addition to our family.
