Well..it's been a week since I had a scope on my right knee for my torn meniscus. I thought I came through it quite well. Although when my surgeon came out he told me that there was a bit more to it. I was so out of it that I'm not really sure of what he really did. He talked to Larry, but I'm still not sure other than I know he told me I also have some Osteoarthretis. That's not good for down the road, because it means most likely knee replacment. I'll talk to him more about what he thinks when I go in to have my stitches out on the 15th. I'll ask him to tell me exactly what he did other than fix the tear too. Saturday, which was the day right after, I felt really good. I got up and was walking on it fairly well. I even went up the stairs so we could watch conference on the big screen. I stayed down and kept it iced and kept on my pain meds so that I could stay ahead of any pain. I thought wow this is going to be great... however.... by Sunday night it wasn't so good. I was actually thinking I might go back to school on Monday, although I had made plans for a substitute just in case. I knew by Sunday afternoon it wasn't going to be possible. So, I stayed home on Monday and I even called the Physician Assistant who had been doing therapy before that to ask him if he thought I had done too much or needed to excercise it or what. He said that it was a pretty normal story and that I had just hit the top of my pain Sunday. He told me to keep icing it and to stay off it as much as I could, so I did. Hey, it got me and extra spring break vacation day, I can't complain too much. All my teaching Nephews can be jealous of that. Anyway, I went back to work on Tuesday and have to say I did fairly well limping along. Each day this week has gotten better and better, although I have to say at the end of the day it felt good to come home and put it up with ice on it. I think as soon as the stictches are out I'll be bending it much better, for now they are pulling just a bit. Even if down the road there could be a knee replacment, which I feel runs in my family, I hope for now it will feel a little better and I won't be limping around.
